Good Bye 2008

Looking back on the past year, I can honestly say that it was a fun year for my family.

After saving $$ since dh and I got married (that's 10 years), we finally went on our dream Europe vacation last summer. That's a month of travel across seven countries with two kids under 10 and we survived. :o) Can I brag here that dh and I get along so well that we never fight? I know that some people say that having a spat with your spouse once in a while is good for marriage. Well, I beg to differ. I think that once a couple learn how to respect each other and compromise, then it is smooth sailing from then on. What's the point of fighting whether to bring the car to the dealer or the no-name garage for the coilovers? Leave your pride out the door and you'll be ok. :o)

During that vacation, I also met Vicky and Prescy in person. I met them online through my other friends and the Filipina group. It was great finally meeting them after years of knowing them online. I know that we'll stay friends forever.

So what else happened back in 2008? My son started Pre-K4 at the same school my daughter attends. I have an empty nest for at least 6 hours a day. Do I miss him and his antics? Heck yes! It's hard to believe but I miss him asking me silly questions and asking for help to do things. He will always be my baby. ( Do all mothers feel this way?) So now that I have 'some' free time, I volunteered once a week in their school library. It worked out great since that day is also my kids' library day so I get to see them with their classmates.

With regards to blogging, I started a couple of blogs. I will be having my first blog anniversary for this blog. Yay! I also discovered Entrecard this year, thanks to my friend Lanie. She told me about it and encouraged me to sign up. Thanks to EC, I discovered a lot of great blogs and found wonderful blogger friends like YOU here in the US and around the world.

So all in all, it was a good year for me. What does this year hold? Your guess is as good as mine. I do hope that this new year will be a good one for everyone.
