Laid Off, Now What?

I saw on the news the other day that some people who were laid off are going back to school and getting new skills. This is a good move since there are a lot of competition out there. With the staggering number of unemployed these days, one needs to stand out from the crowd. Some people go back to school to start a new career. If they were in an industry that is not doing great then it certainly makes sense to start a career in an industry that is not affected by the recession. If you're an insurance agent that is having trouble getting life insurance leads or you're working in the finance industry and was just laid off, going back to school to get a degree may be a good idea.
