Be Careful When Using Your Cards

We received an email from RedBox today about some 'card skimmer's they found on their vending machines in Arizona. Some crook installed a device that reads the credit card information. It is sometimes hard to notice unless you are looking for it. I heard it happens in ATM machines too. The ones in ATM machines are barely noticeable. They said that when you insert your ATM card, you'd think that the machine is not working after you punch in your password/number. But what you don't know is that all the information has already been encrypted in the skimmer device and there is a camera that recorded your password.

If you find out that your credit card has been compromised, it is a good idea to close that account and open a new credit card. To get more information about rewardcredit cards, the internet can be a useful source. When searching for a gas cards or even instant approval credit cards, the web can give you many different view points.

So next time you use any ATM machine, check the card reader first. Make sure that there are no foreign objects in or on it. Cover the keypad when you are entering your password. It is better to be safe than sorry.

  3. Hi Vks, dito sa US it's important to have a credit history kse kung wala mahihirapan ka bumili ng kotse or bahay.
Ako naman, I use it for everything, tapos I pay the whole balance each month para lang makakuha ako ng airline mileage. :) Sa card ko kasi $1=1 point, minsan double points pa.
Yun mileage ang ginagamit ko pag pumupunta ang mom and dad ko dito sa amin para di na sila bumili ng ticket. So instead na $400/ticket I only end up paying $10/ticket, ang laki ng na-save ko ano? :) Pwede rin namin ipalit yung mileage points for flat screen TVs, appliances, watches, etc. Thanks sa bisita Vks. :)

Ms. Davao aka MonaLisa LOL, nice seeing you here. I had one experience too, when we were still in CA, may charge from a gas station somewhere in I-5. Tinawagan ko sila at sabi ko di ako yon, after some checking tinanggal nga nila. We really have to be extra-vigilant ngayon.

  4. mareng barb, talaga pang nag enter ako ng password sa atm talagang takipan ko yong keypad number dahil baka makita ng iba. I use credit card for everything, we don't carry big cash cause we have credit card to use anything we want to buy. also because we can get the mileage for every dollar we spend and we have 205,000 na. We are supposed to use this mileage for flying to Florida next week, but bawat isa sa amin eh 50,000 mileages tapos matagal pa makarating dahil maraming stop over kaya bumili nalang kami ng plane ticket for $500+. si andrew pala pag dito ganon rin ang bayad. We save our mileages for flying to the Philippines. If I can go home next year around summer maybe use for business class. Sa credit card namin lagi ko binayaran ng full payment at walang late dahil nakakasira yan sa credit card history kaya nga rin lagi namin mimonitor ang credit history dahil baka may gumamit.. just like last year we found out mayron sa akin at sa kay kenny from new york. Ibang tao kasi dito madaling maggastos ng credit card kaya baon sa utang just like yong sinabi ko saiyo wala pang bahay at left and right ba yong utang.. grabe ano.

  5. Mareng Lan, buti pala nalaman nyo agad na may illegal charges sa credit card ninyo at naagapan. Malaki pala ang miles na kailangan sa Northwest, sa United Airlines I was able to get tickets just for
25,000miles for California at wala pang black-out dates.
