PhotoHunt #16 - Walking

Priest walking beside Duomo in Florence, Italy

This is one of my favorite photo in Florence, Italy.  I saw this priest walking beside the Duomo. I was drawn to his cassock and hat since I rarely see priests here in the US wear those things anymore.

Walking inside the Doge's Palace grounds in Venice, Italy

This next photo was of my family walking inside the Doge's Palace grounds in Venice, Italy.  If  you go, I suggest taking the tour inside the palace, it's well worth it.  They also offer the Doge's Secret Itinerary tour and I heard it is very interesting.  We didn't take that because we had the kids with us.  Go in the afternoon when there are no lines.

  1. Black soutane for Catholic priests was once the norm, how ironical. :p

  2. The photo of the priest is like from some olden times : )

  3. The first picture is great. I thought it came from a painting.

  4. Aloha from Maui, Hawaii..

Very interesting pictures..thank you for sharing them.
I've got my own "walking" entry posted over at http://upcountrysmiles.com. Please stop by & visit.

  5. I love that first one. Wonderful shots for this week's theme.

  6. Very interesting! The only place I see priests with cassocks is at monasteries run by immigrants.
