This is one of my favorite photo in Florence, Italy. I saw this priest walking beside the Duomo. I was drawn to his cassock and hat since I rarely see priests here in the US wear those things anymore.
This next photo was of my family walking inside the Doge's Palace grounds in Venice, Italy. If you go, I suggest taking the tour inside the palace, it's well worth it. They also offer the Doge's Secret Itinerary tour and I heard it is very interesting. We didn't take that because we had the kids with us. Go in the afternoon when there are no lines.
Black soutane for Catholic priests was once the norm, how ironical. :p
ReplyDeleteThe photo of the priest is like from some olden times : )
ReplyDeleteThe first picture is great. I thought it came from a painting.

I love that first one. Wonderful shots for this week's theme.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting! The only place I see priests with cassocks is at monasteries run by immigrants.
ReplyDeleteMine is up. I hope you have time to check it out.
