This is the Aletsch Glacier, Europe's largest. It has been
retreating for nearly 150 years. I took this photo from a
restaurant at the Jungfraujoch (Top of Europe) in
the Bernese Alps of south-central Switzerland.
This is Europe's highest-altitude railway station at 11,332 ft.

ReplyDeleteI never quite made it to the Aletch Gletsche, only to the Fierscher and Rhone. The rest of my family photographed it from the Concordia Platz.
