Helping Out Schools

Are you the kind of parent who sends their kids off to school, hope they get a good grade and do nothing else? Or are you the one who is involved with their kids' school and even volunteer time and effort to help out the school? I am proud to say that I fall into the second category. I am very involved with my kids' education. The principal and school personnel know me. I help out whenever they need volunteers and I go help out during recess on Thursdays. I wish other parents will also give whatever they can to help out our school. I'm sure they are not even aware of the needs of the teachers, one of which is a dlp projector. If they can't help out to volunteer with their time, I hope they can help out and fulfill other items on the school's wish list.

School's Almost Over

Can you believe it, it's almost the end of the school year! It seems just like yesterday when my 4 year old started preschool. *sigh* Come September, he is going to be in Kindergarten so that means it is time for me to plan. Plan what? I do not know yet. I cannot go back to work full-time since I have to drive the kids to school. So where does it leave me? Get a part-time work? Well, with the state of the economy, even looking for part-time jobs may be hard. Maybe I should look into either taking some courses on the side. I can do this while the kids are in school and it may work out for me. This is definitely a possibility. I'll have to look for some technical and vocational schools guide and see what's available out there.

Help Your Child's Teacher

They spend most of the day with your child. They have the responsibility to educate your child. I think it's just right to support your child's teacher. What do I mean? If you get a class 'wishlist' from your child's teacher, take a moment to read through it. See what it is you can afford and buy it for the class. If you cannot afford to purchase one item, send whatever you can give to the teacher. We all know that they do not get paid enough. Most of them use their own money to purchase class supplies. So next time you get that class wishlist, do not set it aside or toss it. Go to Walmart or wherever and buy it, it is for your child's use in class afterall.

Freetime

This coming Tuesday, my little boy is starting pre-school full time. I now have 6 hours all to myself, except for the two days of the week that I do the laundry. If I didn't have my blogs, then I would probably be at a lost on what to do with that extra time. I would probably go back to school and take another degree. There are a lot of online courses available, I wonder if employers take these online degrees seriously. Does anyone have any idea? I think what's important is doing what you love. I know of my husband's friend who quit his job and enrolled in massage therapy schools. He wasn't happy with his previous job and this is what he wanted to do. He's happy with his new career and is less stressed. I'm sure I'll find something to be busy with.
