I am a gadget freak.. I like gadgets and have no trouble using it. My husband commented that I like gadgets more than he does. Anyway, I was looking for reviews for a universal remote when I came across this website called Gadget Advisor. It has a great review of the Logitech universal remote. I wanted a remote that will replace the four different remotes we have right now in the family room. You see, we have a remote for the Plasma TV, one for the cable box, one for the Bose system and another one for the DVR. Can you imagine going through all of it just to watch a show? I really like how this universal remote looks, very sleek. After reading the article about this Logitech universal remote, I saw another article about the top extensions for Firefox. I use Firefox when dropping Entrecards and found it easy and faster than Internet Explorer. You might want to check out this article since it lists many
useful addons for Firefox. I discovered through this article an addon that will take a snapshot of a whole page even if only a part of the page is shown on your screen. Neat! There is also an article about the best online backup service which will be very helpful for bloggers like us. Have you thought about backing up your blog? It crossed my mind but have not done anything about it. I don't know what I will do if this big server somewhere crashes along with my blogs. Fingers crossed! It is something not everyone thinks about, good thing I saw this, I'll have to consider using it. How about you, do you have your blogs or websites backed up?
I'm sure you've used a file compressor to send a large file as an attachment. I've done it countless times myself. What I didn't know is that there is a safe way to send Zip files. Until now, I've been using the regular program to zip and unzip attachments. This is like sending a package to the post office that has not been sealed, we wouldn't want to do that! This free program is called SecureZip Express, it not only compresses the data ,it also secures it (therefore protecting your privacy). You can download it for free from this web site: www.DecryptandDrive.com After you download the application, you will get a chance to enter to win prices that include a Grand Prize - a Honda Scooter (worth $2,500), 5 first prize of a Fuji Bike and 5 second prize of a Nintendo Wii plus many more fun prizes. Download SecureZip Express and say goodbye to unsecured file attachments.
I've been to a lot of trade shows when I was working in California. One that I look forward to attending is the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. It's a big gadget convention where you can see the latest electronic gadget being offered out there. I love going through the trade show exhibits and see new electronic products. I'm a tech junkie and yes, I know how to program the DVR. Since these trade shows are usually held in a big convention center. You cannot see every exhibit, it will take you days if do. Naturally, people gravitate towards exhibit that are attractive and pleasing to the eye. Exhibits with nice looking table top display and table covers n
aturally get a lot of visitors. I noticed that the exhibits using Camelback Displays look organized and attractive. They have custom printed table covers and custom artwork. So if your company is planning to participate in a trade show, use Camelback Displays to make a splash and stand-out from the rest.
My daughter came to me this morning and asked me to check her computer. It is acting very sluggish, the web pages takes a while to load. I ran Ad-Aware, SpyBlaster and Spybot along with McAfee Anti-Virus. I also emptied the internet caches. It made it ran a little faster but not fast enough. I told dh that we need to upgrade the memory cards for my daughter's computer. Dh commented that we should get a new desktop computer since Tyler does not want to use his computer. He complains that it's too slow and he always uses Amber's computer and in turn, Amber uses my desktop. So where does that leave me? No worries, since I have the newest system in the household, my Dell XPS.
We have been having problems with our phone line lately. Once in a while, the conversation will just be cut-off and then resume again. I thought that it must be the cordless phone and it just needs to be re-charged. But the problem also happens when I used the corded phone. My husband finally isolated the problem to the phone jack in the computer room. He replaced the defective jack with a Cat5e Keystone jack. It has been working fine after he changed it, I'm just glad that it didn't turn out to be an expensive problem after all.
My friend's daughter is graduating from high school next month. It is a big achievement so they will have a graduation party for her. She wants to be a pharmacist and plans to enroll in a university in Davao city. She and her mom are now busy preparing for her trip and long stay in the Philippines. One of the things she wants to bring with her is a new laptop. College students nowadays are dependent on them. They use laptops for their school reports and research. Buying a laptop nowadays is easy, you can get it from everywhere. The downside to this is you never know what kind of product and service you will be getting. There is an online site that sells quality laptops at low prices. They also provide excellent service should you need it after your purchase. This cannot be said to the other online stores where no service is given after the point of sale. LaptopBroker has all the popular notebook brands in stock like Dell, Apple, IBM and Sony among others. Not only do they sell laptops, they also have the accessories that one might need like laptop bags, memory (RAM), batteries and power adapters. www.laptopbroker.com is the place to go for laptops and more.

We received an email from RedBox today about some 'card skimmer's they found on their vending machines in Arizona. Some crook installed a device that reads the credit card information. It is sometimes hard to notice unless you are looking for it. I heard it happens in ATM machines too. The ones in ATM machines are barely noticeable. They said that when you insert your ATM card, you'd think that the machine is not working after you punch in your password/number. But what you don't know is that all the information has already been encrypted in the skimmer device and there is a camera that recorded your password. If you find out that your credit card has been compromised, it is a good idea to close that account and open a new credit card. To get more information about rewardcredit cards, the internet can be a useful source. When searching for a gas cards or even instant approval credit cards, the web can give you many different view points.
So next time you use any ATM machine, check the card reader first. Make sure that there are no foreign objects in or on it. Cover the keypad when you are entering your password. It is better to be safe than sorry. For more info:http://www.snopes.com/fraud/atm/atmcamera.asphttp://www.redbox.com/creditcardsecurity/#How_do_I_know
Yeah, I know, sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? It's kinda true. LOL So, what is it?
It is called Adobe Photoshop Express. It's a web-based version of Adobe Photoshop which means you do not download anything to your computer. All you need to do is register (for free). You upload your photos, use the editing tools, share it with friends and family and store your photos online.
The full version of Adobe Photoshop is complicated for some users, this Photoshop Express version is easier to learn. More or less, this is just like Photobucket or Shutterfly.
Right now, this beta version is only available for US users. I'm sure it'll be available for the rest of the world soon enough.
